3. Detailed information:

Yohimbe is the name of an evergreen tree found in parts of central and western Africa. The bark of yohimbe contains a chemical called yohimbine, which is used to make medicine. Yohimbine hydrochloride (Aphrodyne, Yocon) is a form of yohimbine that is a prescription drug in the US.

Yohimbe supplements often list yohimbe bark extract or yohimbine as the active ingredient. However, some of these products might not provide accurate information about the amount of yohimbine in the supplement. Also, some yohimbe supplements list yohimbine hydrochloride as an active ingredient. Yohimbe products containing man-made yohimbine hydrochloride as an ingredient are not legal to sell as a dietary supplement in the US.

Yohimbe is taken by mouth arouse sexual excitement, for erectile dysfunction (ED), sexual problems caused by medications for depression called selective-serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), and general sexual problems in both men and women. It is also used for athletic performance, weight loss, exhaustion, chest pain, high blood pressure, low blood pressure that occurs when standing up, diabetic nerve pain, and for depression along with certain other medications.

Depending on dosage, yohimbine can either increase or decrease systemic blood pressure (through vasoconstriction or vasodilation, Because yohimbine has highest affinity for the α2 receptor, Small doses can increase blood pressure by causing a relatively selective α2 blockade. Yohimbine also, however, interacts with α1 receptors, albeit with lower affinity; Therefore, at higher doses an α1 blockade can occur and overwhelm the effects of the α2 blockade, leading to a potentially dangerous drop in blood pressure.[6] Higher doses of oral yohimbine may create numerous side effects, such as rapid heart rate, overstimulation, anomalous blood pressure, cold sweating, and insomnia.

5.Mechanism of action:

Yohimbine hydrochloride can dilate the human stem artery, increase the blood flow of the cavernous sinus of the penis, and make the penis congestive erection. Yohimbine hydrochloride can also produce psychological stimulants and increase sexual desire. When a few apply, can make perineum swollen, stimulate spinal cord erectile center and make sexual function hyperactive.

In a randomized, double-blind, phase II trial combining sorafenib with doxorubicin, the median time to progression was not significantly delayed compared with doxorubicin alone in patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma. Median durations of overall survival and progression-free survival were significantly longer in patients receiving sorafenib plus doxorubicin than in those receiving doxorubicin alone.[4] A prospective single-centre phase II study which included the patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)concluding that the combination of sorafenib and DEB-TACE in patients with unresectable HCC is well tolerated and safe, with most toxicities related to sorafenib.[15] This is the only indication for which sorafenib is listed on the PBS and hence the only Government-subsidised indication for sorafenib in Australia. Along with renal cell carcinoma, hepatocellular carcinoma is one of the TGA-labelled indications for sorafenib.

6.Main symptoms and effects, acute and delayed effects

Long-term or frequent exposure can cause: heart damage, yohimbine competes to block alpha adrenergic and 5-

Serotonin receptors. It can penetrate the blood-brain barrier and cause a range of reactions, including inhibition of urine secretion, increased blood pressure and heart rate, increased exercise activity, and excitement

Shaking, sweating, nausea and vomiting. It is an alpha 2 adrenergic receptor inhibitor that increases the release of norepinephrine in the nervous system. .

To the best of our knowledge, the chemical, physical and toxic properties have not been thoroughly studied.
