3. Product Description:
Structurally, it is the ester hydrochloride of p-butoxyphenyl γmorpholinopropane. When Abbott Laboratories is studying a series of alkoxy aryl alkylamine ethers for such applications, the substance stands out as a good local anesthetic. Most mucous membranes can tolerate procaine and rank low on the sensitization index, so it is unlikely to cause allergic reactions.
Pramoxine Hydrochloride is the hydrochloride form of pramoxine, a morpholine derivative with local anesthetic properties. Pramocaine hydrochloride reduces the permeability of neuronal membranes to sodium ions by reversibly binding and inhibiting voltage-gated sodium channels. This results in membrane stabilization, thereby suppressing the ion flux required for membrane depolarization, resulting in an action potential that cannot initiate propagation and subsequent conduction block.
Pramoxine is used to temporarily relieve itching and pain caused by minor skin irritation, such as minor burns/cuts/abrasions, sunburn, eczema, insect bites, cold sores or poison ivy, poison oak or poison sumac rash. Some products containing Pramoxine are also used to temporarily relieve the itching and discomfort caused by hemorrhoids and certain other problems in the genital/anal area (such as anal fissure, itching around the vagina/rectum).

Surgical anesthesia: epidural anesthesia (including epidural anesthesia during cesarean section); local infiltration anesthesia.
Acute pain control: For postoperative or childbirth analgesia, continuous epidural infusion or intermittent medication can be used; local infiltration anesthesia.
Local anesthetics are used to relieve pain and itching caused by sunburns or other minor burns, insect bites or bites, poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac, and minor cuts and scratches. Procaine and dibucaine are also common ingredients in over-the-counter hemorrhoid preparations.
